Hi, I’m Michelle Adams—designer, editor, and a lifelong lover of soulful interiors.

I began my career in publishing, starting as an assistant at Domino magazine, where I had the incredible fortune of learning from some of the most inspiring names in design. That experience opened the door for me to launch Lonny, an online interiors magazine that I built from the ground up and later sold in 2012. I eventually returned to Domino as Editor-in-Chief, where I continued to travel the world, telling stories about how people live—and more importantly, how they feel in their homes.

Those years shaped my eye and cemented my belief that great design isn’t about trends or perfection. It’s about feeling grounded, relaxed, and at ease in a space that reflects who you truly are.

In 2014, I returned home to Michigan and bought a fixer-upper that kicked off a whole new chapter. What started as a personal renovation project quickly turned into a calling. Since then, I’ve renovated five homes of my own, designed for clients, and worked closely with contractors to get the details right from the very beginning—sightlines, light, focal points, and flow.

I gravitate toward homes that feel collected and lived in—where vintage pieces bring character, textiles add softness, and nothing is too precious. I'm endlessly inspired by the sea and coastal living, which is why I named my studio Maryn—a nod to water, ease, and interiors that feel relaxed but refined.

I believe good design should be timeless, personal, and quietly bold. I want my clients to walk into their homes and breathe a little deeper. Whether it’s a cozy pantry or a whole-house renovation, I see potential everywhere—and I bring nearly two decades of styling, sourcing, and editorial storytelling to every project I take on.

I currently live and work in Michigan, where I spend most days outside with my dog Rufus, designing with bare feet in the grass and a sun hat on my head.

Let’s make something beautiful together.

I’m currently booking projects in Michigan to start in fall, 2025.

Meet Michelle
